Interesting times as the UK electricity grid falls on its arse.
Various parts of the UK, including London and the South-East, areas around Manchester and Glasgow all reporting outages.
UK Power Network blames this on National Grid.
Meanwhile, National Grid are silent on the matter… a hell of a day to have the Chancellor of the Exchequer looking over your shoulder though, lads.. lol
And thank God that even though you’ve not managed to keep the electricity on, you managed to publish your Electricity Transmission stakeholder engagement incentive submission, complete with obligatory and totally relevant – and real – mixed-race couple.
Ladbrokes aren’t giving odds on civil disorder tonight, but if London is in darkness when the sun geos down, I foresee the night of the living dead up there in the smoke.
I did have a quick look on the National Grid’s news page on their website. Nothing about keeping the electricity on, but lots and lots of crap about sustainability and zero carbon bollocks.
Thank God they’re committed to all that guff, eh?
Fun times.

UPDATE: Jesus…
Ipswich Hospital said it was being affected by the power cut in that area, as its back-up generator had failed to work.
A hospital spokeswoman said staff were working “flat out” to keep patients safe.
