Oh my day has just been made…

Schadenfreude can taste just like the furry cup sometimes. Joy.

According to witnesses, Miss Harman, who is Leader of the House of Commons and Minister for Women and Equality, stopped initially but then drove off without giving her insurance or registration details. The offence carries a possible sentence of six months in prison.

This is Harriet Harman, Barrister and former Solicitor General.

According to reports, the Minister is under investigation for driving without due care and attention, driving while illegally using a mobile phone and failing to stop after an accident.

The accident happened in Dulwich, south-east London, not far from Miss Harman’s home on July 3.

Her car is alleged to have collided with another vehicle which was parked beside the kerb. The sound of the collision drew a small crowd of bystanders.

According to reports, witnesses saw Miss Harman ending a phone conversation and a neighbour of the person whose car was damaged approached the car.

The 1988 Road Traffic Act states that drivers must stop and give their name and address, details of the vehicle’s owner and its registration number.

Of course, the RTA also provides for the driver to present themselves to a police station within 24 hours to give details of the incident. If she did that, she’s in the clear on the failing to stop, I think.

And the Due Care & Attention rap is a default charge. I’ve beaten it twice, because they’ve lobbed it at me hoping I’d plead guilty, when in fact they didn’t have shit on me.

The mobile phone one? 3pts, £60, right? No biggie.

Still, it’s one to watch.
