I’ve cleaned up and updated the blogroll.
I’m slowly pruning the old rubbish from the sidebar.
I’ve decided on a new theme that I’ll be moving to, once I’ve sorted out the header images I want to use with it. It looks like it’ll be a big improvement on the prehistoric one I’ve been using for the last umpteen years, which is completely beyond redemption in terms of making it look like it belongs on a phone, tablet or laptop, rather than on a payphone, a stone tablet or an Amstrad Emailer.
I’m trying to find a good way to add my favourite podcasts to the blogroll, mindful of the fact that most people use a podcasting app, and not a laptop, and that podcasts tend not to be hosted on a common platform, with most but not all on iTunes or Stitcher.
I’m even toying with the idea of doing a podcast of my own, but don’t hold your breath (I’m sure you can be persuaded of the merits). I did a pilot which won’t be released and it was technically okay in terms of sound quality, but needs a lot of work to make it punchy, focused and interesting.
For some time I was discouraged from even trying, on the basis that some of the best podcasts are based on at least two co-presenters, or a presenter and a guest, but these days some of my favourite podcasts are one-man shows, with occasional guests or crossovers.
So we shall see.
