  1. I did the like the extra bit of persecution-justification, the truly heinous not making her wear a cardigan in the cold!

    And we wonder why children today are useless, adversity-fearing, semi-literate cretins who look to the state for everything…

  2. At the age of 7 we were sent to a new school (a Catholic one) across the other side of town rather than attending the convenient one 100 yards from our front door. To get to the school we had to walk around half a mile to the bus stop (including cross a busy trunk road), get the bus across town and then walk a further few hundred yards to the school. Neither of my parents ever accompanied us on any part of this journey.

    I am deeply scarred :)
